“What’s good? How to stay positive in Berlin 2019 and beyond”

· ABOUT ·

Over a year ago, for Black History Month, we hosted our first town hall meeting to talk about what is actually good in Berlin, especially for Black people. We know that oppressive structures exist around us, challenging us every day, and sometimes it can feel very overwhelming. Yet we are still in the city or haven’t left for some reason.

We tapped into the collective brain power of our community to see which tips we can come up with to stay positive and realize ourselves in the place we, for various reasons, have chosen or kept Berlin as our home.

Due to overwhelming positive feedback from our last community gathering, which was so inspiring, we are back to follow up to ask the question: what steps did we take from the last session to stay positive in Berlin? How did we move forward in a positive way as individuals, in the communities we share, setup goals, and implement structures to realize those goals? And what further steps can we take to continue to stay positive, both individually and as a community, in 2019 and beyond?

This event is hosted by Mark & Samir of The Black Berlin Group!

+++ BPOC ONLY! +++
In order to give racially discriminated people the opportunity to articulate their thoughts within a so-called „safe space“, without experiencing exclusion, we would like to point out that these workshops and events are aimed exclusively at people who position themselves as Black (B = Black), or as People of Color (PoC).

People of Color (PoC) positionieren.”
